Home Context / welcome

Welcome to the public website of the European goatBSE project (FOOD-CT-2006-36353).

This STREP, funded within FP6, is co-ordinated collaboratively by Alex Bossers and Jan Langeveld, both from the Central Veterinary Institute of Wageningen UR located in Lelystad the Netherlands (CVI). The project is closely linked to, and actually originated from, the Neuroprion network of excellence project TSEgoat (FOOD-CT-2004-506579) currently lead by Jan Langeveld (CVI).

You can download our first general project flyer here.

The project has started in December 2006 and is currently (2012) in its 6th year! As a direct result from this project and other related projects at partners' institutes, a NEW project under the EMIDA umbrella (goat TSE free) will start in 2012 with the focus to assess the feasibility on goat breeding programmes to control TSEs. That project is coordinated by Jan Langeveld from CVI as well.

We intent to update the site regularly, but do not expect this to happen daily. For your convenience you can use the RSS feed at the bottom of the home page to get notifications on news/updates of the site. At least we will try to post the yearly updates on the progress reports, any flyers or media content we produce as well as relevant information to and from the identified stakeholders.

We hope you will enjoy this website which will continue under the EMIDA project and find it usefull. resource.
